Tour for the Cure

The Tour for the Cure caused quite a stir as we were parked at the Deer Lake Foodland. Owners and managers, Linda and Roger, went above and beyond to rally the town to raise an astounding $1000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation-Atlantic Region. Delicious cake was washed down with some summery, pink lemonade at the raffle table where visitors from the bus were eligible to enter a fundraising draw.

These boys had big smiles when they learned that they would find cupcakes and lemonade inside of Foodland!

An excited crowd greeted us in Deer Lake! Victoria presented our breast aware station to a group that included Foodland store owners, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Deer Lake, a reporter from CBC Radio, and an array of interested passersby!
